Tangible and intangible long-term benefits for people, cities, and countries after the Olympics
It refers to the KSPO’s desire to diffuse the vital tangible and intangible values of the Seoul Olympic Legacy to future generations and the entire world, rather than having it stick to the past, history, or Korea.
The KSPO has managed and developed the tangible legacy of the Seoul Olympic Games, including the Olympic Park, for the past 30 years and has been recognized for creating the most exemplary Olympic legacy by the IOC. Furthermore, the KSPO raised KRW 21 trillion (USD 21.594 billion) based on the surplus funds of the Seoul Olympics amounting to KRW 311 billion (USD 320 million) for the National Sports Promotion Fund by 2021 through the revenues earned by leasing the Olympic Stadium, etc. and has promoted public health and the development of Korean sports with KRW 15 trillion.
