KSPO Chairman & CEO, CHO Hyun Jae
Your Lifelong Sports Partner, KSPO

The 1988 Seoul Olympics had a huge impact on many parts of Korean society. Thirty-four years have passed, but the tangible and intangible legacy left by the Seoul Olympics in Korea and around the world still remains with us.

KSPO(Korea Sports Promotion Foundation), which is responsible for 90% of Korea's sports finances, also started from the Seoul Olympics. Founded in 1989 after the 1988 Seoul Olympics the KSPO was tasked maintaining and utilizing Olympic facilities and promoting sports for the general public.

With the surplus of 311.1 billion dollars from the Olympics, the KSPO is contributing to the sports finance by creating KSPO funds through Cycle racing, Motorboat racing, and Sports Toto projects.

Managing and preserving the Seoul Olympic legacy is one of the main tasks of KSPO. Olympic Park is loved by many citizens, including cultural performances and sports events, as the IOC also introduces it as an excellent example of Olympic legacy management.

One of KSPO's task is to contribute to human harmony, conflict resolution, and peace through sports, the original purpose of the Olympics, by spreading the spirit of the Seoul Olympics to future generations.

From fostering the sports industry to developing international sports jobs and competencies, supporting sports welfare, and researching sports policies and science, KSPO creates a healthy Korea with various support projects in diverse fields of Korean sports, where everyone can enjoy sports anytime, anywhere.

KSPO will do its utmost to share the pleasure of sports with the general public by focusing on communication and innovation and by strengthening our competitiveness.

Thank you.
