Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Show (SPOEX)

  • Every February, KSPO holds SPOEX, the largest sports exhibition in Asia. SPOEX presents the newest trends in sports industries to the world and helps sports corporations to thrive in the global market. A wide variety of sports-related corporations exhibit at SPOEX, including companies involved in fitness, camping, trekking, biking, and water-based leisure activities. Buyers from many countries attend SPOEX to arrange the export of goods and technologies.

Funding Support

  • Between 2015 and 2021, KSPO raised approximately USD 235 million to support start-up businesses and other outstanding corporations in the sports industry. Another use of this fund is to provide loan services (2.34% interest rate, as of 2022) for agencies involved with sports manufacturing and services agencies for sports facilities.

Sporting Goods Testing and Certification

  • Our Sporting Goods Testing Center at Yong-In (Singal), Gyeong-gi issues KISS (Korea Industrial Standards for Sporting Goods) certificates, which evaluate quality, function, and production standards. Certified products are eligible for support to obtain foreign certifications.

  • KSPO encourages Korean small and medium enterprises to participate in well-known global exhibitions (in the USA, German, and China), and also provides them with consulting services (strategic planning, market research, recruiting in a buyer’s market) and marketing services (advertising on- and off-line).

Virtual Reality (VR) Sports Education in Elementary Schools

Distribution of Virtual Reality (VR) Sports room

  • KSPO believes that the introduction of VR sports education into classrooms will expand opportunities for children to learn about sports, overcoming environmental barriers such as air pollution. USD 31,818 is set aside to implement this project at 100 elementary schools in 2022.
